Describing a person

Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for your e-mail.

Of course I can tell you about Cati. She's 45, and she is a teacher in a Primary School in Arroyo del Ojanco (Jaén),where she lives with her family. She has one daughter, who is ten years old and her husband is a very sociable person.I get on well with them because they are always there when I need them.

I think she's extrovert and very friendly, she has lot of friends. She's also very good with children
and she likes her work. She's really hard-working and responsible and a bit sensitive.

She likes going out,and going to the cinema every weekend, and listening to Spanish music. She loves reading and writing poems. She's very independent and although she lives with her husband and her daughter, she does many activities on her own.

The only negative things I can think of are that she's a bit untidy and quite bossy when she wants
to get something. She's good at learning everything and listening to her friends.

I hope that's useful. Let me Know if you need any more information about her.

Love.

THE WEEKEND

The good side.
For me the first good thing about the weekend is that I don't have to go to work. I like my job,but I have to spend all day inside, at school, and I'm a person who loves being outside.Another good thing is that I don't have to get up early. During the weeck I have to get up at seven to ten every day. It's not too bad in the summer but I hate it in the winter when it's dark in the morning.
But above all, I like the weekend because I have time to do all the things I really enjoy doing, like listening to music, painting, traveling, or going out with friends.
The bad side.
However, there are some things I don't like about the weekend.Firstly, I have to go shopping on Saturday morning, and the supermarket is always crowded.Secondly,on Sundays I always have lunch out with my husband.
Other weekends we go with my parents, although my mother is a good cook and her food is delicious, I don't usually have a good time. The family always argues and we end up watching TV, which
I think is boring.
But in general I love the weekend- I often get a little depressed on Sunday afternoon when I know that the weekend is nearly over.

DESCRIBING A BUILDING. (NEW)

The most beautiful building in my town is the Church of Inmaculate Conception in the centre of la Carolina. It is in the Church Square.
Nobody Knows who it was designed by, but people think it was an important architect. Construction began in 1901 but the building wasn't completed for another forty years.
It is one the oldest churches in la Carolina.
Outside its façade is high and narrow, and its cover has a statue of Inmaculate Conception. Next to the façade is the bell Tower.
Inside the Church is quite dark. There are beautiful little windows and the statues of St Charles and St Joan of the Cross(patrons of La Carolina).
One the best things you can to do in La Carolina is to go up the stairs of the Church and you can see the fantastics views like Main Street, Town Hall Square and Windmill in perspective.
Its free to go in, you must dress appropriately.

Tennis courses in France.

Dear Sir /Madam:

I'm writing to ask for information about tennis courses.I'm especially interested in an intensive course for two weeks.I'm 46 and I work in a Secondary School. I'm a French teacher, but my husband's a sport teacher and we are interested in learning to play tennis in Paris,in Roland Garros. We are beginners and we'd prefer private lessons with professional coach.
I have looked at your website, but there is no information about intensive courses next summer. Could you please send me information about dates and prices? I would also like some information about accommodation. I would like to stay with my family: my husband, and my two nieces.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully.

The Place I live's la Carolina

I live in la Carolina which's a city in the province of Jaén, Andalucía (Spain).
The city as a population of 15576 people.
It's situated in Sierra Morena.La Carolina's the fifth biggest city in Jaén.
Carlos III is the founder in the XVIII century.
It's a baeutiful city and its streets are parall and perpendicular around to the Town Hall Square.
There are a lot of bars, restaurants and monuments, like The churh of the "Inmaculada Concepción",the Palace Olavide and the Battle of Navas de Tolosa.
The weather here is similar to that in the centre of Spain;the winter can be very cool and the summer's hot too.
La carolina's famous for its festivals:
- May Festival: whith a lot of casetas and people dance "sevillanas" and drink "rebujitos".There is a show and sale of livestock.
- St John of the Cross ( 24 th November) a mistyc writer and lived here, he's the Patron of la Carolina. This day people take the relics of St Joan to the "Peñuela" and they reffle a pig.
- Carnivals are very important in la Carolina.
This city is famous for its dishes too: partridge paté and mountain meat.
But I think the best things about la Carolina is the people, they are very friendly and hospitable.
